Two persons, including a businesswoman from Sangli in Maharashtra, were remanded in judicial custody by a city court on Saturday in a case related to a cheque bounce case. Businesswoman Prema Prakash Malpani and broker Dinesh Maniyar had procured cotton seed oil cakes from Hubli-based Tirupati Oil Extract Private Ltd. However, the cheque they issued for Rs. 9.5 lakh to Ashok Goel, director of the company, bounced. Mr. Goel filed a complaint with the Ashok Nagar police station. The police arrested Prema and Dinesh at Sangli and produced them before the Second JMFC court here on Saturday.
